++++ the visit to pergamon museum

ok, i studied ancient art for a lot of time in school, highschool, and uni...but then...it never is the same as seeing it in real life. what struck me most was the detail of the human figures. in most roman and greek statues, the ones that have the normal posture, on the hip, the body is completely relaxed, no skin creases or flesh folds are made, but in more dynamic scenes, as in the frieze with the battle of the gods with the giants you can see very delightful details in flesh, in stone. so, here is the greek and roman detail photos:
